April 19
Dear Portable G Families,
Summer? Yikes, not yet! But let’s hope that we have pleasant weather for our field trip to Hayward Shoreline this Thursday. Please have your child wear comfortable walking shoes/sneakers that can get dirty, bring a hat, use sunscreen, and bring a bag lunch. It may be muddy, so an extra pair of shoes and socks may come in handy. We will leave right after attendance, so your child must be on time. Thanks in advance to the drivers!
This week in Math, we will continue to review and homework will be a review of prior concepts and test prep. Please continue to study multiplication facts with your child - there will be a timed multiplication test again this week.
In Open Court, the Money unit will end with “Uncle Jed’s Barbershop”, which is historical fiction. We had a lively literature discussion about “The Fisherman and His Wife” read to us by Mrs.Lindo, using many voices! This was from our Junior Great Books series.
Testing, testing – I will be sending home information regarding dates and policies shortly. The “test prep” homework and classwork is similar to the format.
Reminders for the week-
• Spelling test on Friday.
• The Chabot Space and Science Center field trip is scheduled for May. Date and permission slips to follow.
• Animal Report information will be in Wednesday folder. Most of the research has been done in class.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
